In the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Russia has launched total forced mobilization, increasingly resembling a targeted “disposal” of the local population.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.
According to testimonies from the units themselves, staffed by residents of occupied Donbas, mobilized individuals — often people with disabilities or serious illnesses — are used as “cannon fodder” on the first line of assault and to detect Ukrainian positions.
Commanders of Russian units are already publicly acknowledging the critical situation: the mobilized have undergone neither medical examinations nor proper training. Mutinies are beginning within units, and human resources are viewed exclusively as expendable material.
At the same time, the occupiers do not plan to reduce the pace of forced mobilization. This is evidenced by a recent decision to establish draft commissions and launch a campaign to conscript men born between 1996 and 2008 in the occupied territories of Donetsk region.
“This is direct confirmation that Russia places no value on the lives of residents of the occupied territories. Forced mobilization in occupied Donbas is a component of Russia’s genocidal policy: the physical destruction of people whom Russia claimed it would protect continues”, — the Center emphasized.
