The electronic warfare (EW) unit of the 3rd Separate Heavy Mechanized Iron Brigade demonstrates exceptionally high effectiveness. Over the past year, EW specialists of the Iron Brigade have suppressed more than 4,500 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, including over 300 Molniya drones.
This was reported by the spokesperson of the 3rd Separate Heavy Mechanized Iron Brigade, Major Ihor Romanenko, during an Army TV stream on January 16.
Currently, the Iron Brigade’s EW units “ground” between 50 and 70 Russian UAVs every day.
“Recently, we published statistics on the outstanding work of our EW group, which over the past year suppressed and forced down more than 4,500 UAVs. More than 300 of them were Molniyas; all the rest were FPVs”, — he said.
In December alone, EW units of the Iron Brigade grounded more than 500 enemy UAVs, including about 40 Molniyas.
“Such a barrage, such massive raids do not stop despite the weather. Every day we record that this single EW unit neutralizes and grounds dozens of drones — from 40 to 70 — within our sector alone”, — Ihor Romanenko reported.
The 3rd Iron Brigade also reported that in December 2025, the effectiveness of EW operations within the brigade’s area of responsibility reached 86%. This means that only 14% of Russian-launched drones managed to break through to strike.
