The unmanned aerial systems unit Lazar’s Group of the National Guard of Ukraine is one of the most effective within the Defense Forces. The total value of Russian equipment destroyed by the unit since the start of the full-scale invasion exceeds $15 billion.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the National Guard of Ukraine, Ruslan Muzychuk, in an exclusive comment to ArmyInform.
Recently, Lazar’s Group added 13 more units of enemy equipment to its achievements, detected and destroyed on the Lyman axis within the responsibility zone of the Third Army Corps.
“Enemy detection within the strike zone was carried out by the aerial reconnaissance forces of the National Guard’s Lazar’s Group strike UAV unit in cooperation with a unit of the State Border Guard Service. Based on the intelligence obtained, night bomber crews were deployed and carried out a series of precise strikes on enemy targets”, — he said.
It is known that Lazar’s Group aerial reconnaissance acted jointly with the Aviation Detachment of the Operational and Intelligence Activity Directorate of the State Border Guard Service, identifying and tracking enemy equipment locations.
“As a result of the successful operation, confirmed hits were achieved on 13 units of enemy equipment, including 10 armored combat vehicles, 2 trucks, and 1 fuel tanker”, — the officer reported.
The damaged equipment was planned to be used by the Russians for offensive operations on the Lyman axis.
“The operation was conducted in close coordination with units of the Third Army Corps and within its area of responsibility. The coordinated actions of various components of the Defense Forces once again demonstrate the effectiveness of cooperation and the ability to inflict significant losses on the enemy”, — Ruslan Muzychuk emphasized.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of Lazar’s Group, border guards, and Third Army Corps units, the enemy’s offensive potential was significantly reduced.
“We are developing unmanned systems units, and Lazar’s Group is one of the most effective in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, they have destroyed equipment worth over $15 billion”, — the spokesperson added.
