Due to intensive use, the barrels of Archer self-propelled guns wore out quickly and needed replacement.

This was reported by the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine.

Last year, 10 spare barrels were sent.

“In total, Sweden donated 26 Archer self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. Ukrainian troops, including the 45th Artillery Brigade named after General Myron Tarnavskyi, highly valued these weapons for their exceptional effectiveness against Russian positions and long-range capability (up to 50 km).

The Archer is our modern howitzer, mounted on a heavy all-terrain vehicle and remotely operated from an armored cabin. Advanced ballistic calculations, rapid redeployment, high accuracy, and compatibility with international ammunition — that’s what it’s about”, — the embassy statement said.
