Viktor, an operator of the Hawk surface-to-air missile system of the 208th Kherson Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, possesses broad knowledge and skillfully applies it during combat operations.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared his story on January 8.

Before the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Viktor graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, so technology and software were well familiar to him.

When foreign partners provided Ukraine with Hawk systems, Viktor was among the first to join their study and operational deployment.

“I underwent training abroad and sought to understand every nuance of how the system works, not to miss a single detail.

A combat mission can only be successfully completed when you thoroughly understand all processes. This includes not only searching for, tracking, and destroying aerial targets, but also maintaining the system: how to reload it, camouflage it, and redeploy the equipment”, — Viktor said.

Over the course of a year, Viktor and his comrades shot down more than 20 enemy aerial targets.

Among his fellow soldiers, the officer is respected and serves as an example. He is characterized by courage and principled leadership, has strong technical training, and is fluent in several foreign languages.
