President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Mykhailo Fedorov the format of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine’s work and the changes he is preparing to implement in the position of Minister of Defense.
The Head of State wrote about this on social media.
“The main principle is that the technological nature of our defense must preserve the lives of our warriors. Russia has one significant advantage in this war — the ability to exert pressure through the scale of strikes and assaults on Ukraine. We must and will respond with more active use of technologies, faster development of new types of weapons, and new tactics”, — the President emphasized.
He noted that since the beginning of this war, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has been and remains an active source of innovations for Ukraine’s defense sector. This also applies to the development of the weapons manufacturing market, the use of drones, and modern communications.
“Of course, Ukraine is absolutely committed to diplomacy and seeks to end this war as soon as possible. But Russia does not demonstrate a similar approach and drags out the aggression. We will counter this through greater technological capability and transformation of the defense sector”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.
According to him, Mykhailo Fedorov will present the necessary decision projects within a week.
“I expect that parliament will support such reinforcement. Today, Mykhailo reported on how various areas of modernization of Ukraine’s defense sector are already being implemented. Technological solutions are already working”, — the President assured.
In particular, in December 2025 alone, 35,000 destroyed occupiers were verified and confirmed on video; in November — 30,000 confirmed hits; in October — 26,000.
“Obviously, technologies are working effectively. The supply of drones to the troops is clearly increasing. We are preparing our new special formats for strengthening the drone component of our defense”, — the President concluded.
