An active defensive operation by the Defense Forces of Ukraine is ongoing on the Lyman axis. The enemy mainly uses infantry assaults and a large number of drones and artillery.
This was stated on Suspilne TV by Oleksandr Borodin, spokesperson for the Third Army Corps.
“The enemy has two main elements — buildup and infiltration. Depending on where it is easier for them to address these issues, that is where they try to advance”, — Oleksandr Borodin said.
He noted that the terrain on this axis is quite difficult, and the enemy is trying to build up forces. Ukrainian units, in turn, are actively working to prevent this, including by destroying logistics.
“There were cases when Russians entered Lyman. But these were not even groups — it was infiltration by individual occupiers. There was a situation where several individuals entered the settlement, and a Russian war correspondent immediately published footage claiming Russians were present in the city. In doing so, they revealed the location of the group, and it was destroyed within one to two hours”, — the spokesperson of the Third Army Corps said.
