“There is no front line. There is one large kill zone”: fighting near Pokrovsk continues across a wide area
Its width ranges from 5 to 20 kilometers on both sides, where active work of reconnaissance UAVs, strike UAVs, artillery, and mortars hinders the movement of assault groups.
This was reported on January 1 on the United News telethon by Major Volodymyr Nazarenko, Deputy Commander of the 4th Battalion “Power of Freedom” of the 4th Rapid Response Brigade “Rubizh” of the National Guard of Ukraine.
“In these conditions, our task is primarily to destroy occupiers as soon as they are detected, that is, on approaches. General Staff reports say there were about 40 clashes in the Pokrovsk direction. This means that 40 enemy assault groups reached contact with our infantry, who are holding the front on their shoulders and in most cases won these clashes, preventing the enemy from advancing”, — Nazarenko said.
