Enemy assault actions in the Pokrovsk direction are ongoing constantly — both using small infantry groups, which may even consist of a single occupier, and with the use of armored assault groups.
This was reported on January 1 during the United News telethon by Ihor Yaremenko, Chief of Staff of the Artillery Reconnaissance Battalion of a National Guard artillery brigade.
“There are cases when individual Russian servicemen move alone, hoping that no one will react to such isolated advances. But we do react, in order to minimize the number of enemy forces penetrating the city and, accordingly, to make the fighting inside the city easier for our Defense Forces, who are heroically holding these sections of the front”, — Ihor Yaremenko said.
According to him, the Defense Forces are currently actively working to expand logistical routes to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in order to be able to deliver everything necessary to infantry units holding the defense.
“As artillerymen, our primary task is counter-battery warfare — that is, destroying enemy artillery systems that constantly shell the positions of our infantry units and UAV crews. However, given the intensity of assault actions, artillery is now also working against enemy manpower and armored vehicles”, — Yaremenko noted.
