The Government of Romania approved a decision to join the PURL mechanism (Priority Ukraine Requirements List), which ensures the procurement of weapons from the United States for Ukraine.

This was reported by Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, on social media platform X.

Romania will contribute EUR 50 million to the PURL initiative. This contribution will be made in accordance with the 2025 budget ceiling, the Romanian foreign minister noted.

“Romania’s contribution to PURL will help achieve lasting peace in Ukraine by strengthening its capabilities”, — Oana Țoiu said.

She added that Romania’s participation in the U.S.-led PURL mechanism directly contributes to strengthening regional security and fully complies with Romania’s commitments within NATO and its strategic partnership with the United States.
