Volodymyr Zelenskyy held phone conversations with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
The President reported this on the evening of December 29.
“We have just spoken with Chancellor Merz. First of all, we discussed the results of the meeting with President Trump and his team in Florida.
I informed him of the main points and key issues. Thank you, Friedrich, for the advice and constant coordination. Of course, we also discussed today’s Russian fake aimed at undermining diplomacy and justifying the prolongation of the war.
Putin must get used to the idea that he has to end the war, the strikes, and the bloodshed. Ukraine is doing everything to achieve peace. Russia must stop inventing ways to wage war and start thinking about how to restore security. Ukraine has put forward all proposals.
Thank you to Germany, all of Europe, and the United States for their support on the path to peace”, — Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy thanked Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs for unwavering support since 2022.
“Ukrainians deeply appreciate it. I informed him about the meeting with President Trump and our work with the American negotiating team.
We worked very well, and the fact that the Russians are now trying to disrupt progress with new fakes only confirms the quality of our meetings and communication with the American side.
I am grateful that Latvia will continue to support the PURL program. We appreciate that Latvia stands with us in all matters of cooperation at the European level. I invited the President to visit Ukraine”, — Zelenskyy wrote.
In the conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, the sides discussed the diplomatic situation, opportunities and prospects, and the results of meetings with President Trump and his team.
“We are preparing new meetings in Europe, and it is important that everything is as substantive as possible and that we jointly counter Russian attempts to undermine diplomacy.
Although the Russians spread fakes to justify their strikes on Ukraine and further prolongation of this war, key intelligence services of the world must have the real information.
Security guarantees, real recovery, and lasting peace are needed for all of Europe. Thank you!” — Zelenskyy stated.
