In the settlement of Stepnohirsk, Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian units are conducting defensive operations.
This was stated by the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.
“The occupiers are trying to infiltrate along the main road leading into the settlement, and fierce fighting continues there as well. However, part of the settlement remains under the control of Ukrainian defenders”, — the statement said.
As for the situation in Huliaipole, it is indeed difficult, with part of the settlement under the control of Russian forces. They are actively conducting assault actions and trying to deploy consolidation groups. In addition, the enemy has a significant advantage both in manpower and in weapons: it actively uses kamikaze drones and artillery, carries out air strikes with guided aerial bombs and unguided rockets, attempting to destroy our positions and push Ukrainian units out of the settlement.
Over the past day, the enemy launched almost two dozen assaults on Ukrainian positions in the city; fierce street fighting is still ongoing. However, a significant part of Huliaipole continues to be held by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Our units remain in their positions, conduct defensive operations, deliver counterstrikes, and carry out search-and-strike actions to destroy enemy assault groups, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Yesterday in Huliaipole, the enemy lost more than 300 personnel and around six dozen pieces of equipment and weapons.
At present, the situation in Huliaipole is very difficult. However, at this time, the Russians do not have full control over the settlement.
“Putin’s statements and Gerasimov’s reports regarding Huliaipole and Stepnohirsk resemble the situation with Kupiansk, which they have ‘captured’ several times already. The haste of such ‘blitzkriegs’ is driven by the upcoming meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States, which is expected to take place in the near future”, — the statement concluded.
