On the night of December 25 in Odesa Oblast, three enemy Shahed-type strike drones were destroyed with a heavy machine gun by Dmytro, a fighter of a mobile fire group operating within the Anti-Aircraft Missile Odesa Brigade of Air Command “South”.
This was reported on December 25 by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Everything happened within about fifteen minutes. The drones were coming one after another. I worked based on experience: detected the targets with a thermal imager, took lead, and opened fire on command. After the hits, the first two Shaheds exploded in the air, and the third fell in a field”, — Dmytro said.
Overall, the mobile fire group has already destroyed nine enemy UAVs.
Dmytro is a miner from Luhansk Oblast. After the occupation of his native region, his family evacuated to Odesa, while he himself joined the military. He took part in combat operations in Donetsk Oblast, where he was wounded.
“We are defending our families and our land from enemy drones. That is my motivation. The main thing is to endure and win. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!” — Dmytro said.
