In the Kupiansk direction, in Kupiansk itself, occupying forces are thinning out. Russians are attacking settlements north of the city. Enemy propagandists have admitted that the attempt to entrench themselves in Kupiansk has failed.

This was stated on the air of the “United News” telethon by Viktor Trehubov, Head of the Communications Directorate of the Joint Forces Grouping.

According to him, Russians surrounded in Kupiansk are gradually surrendering. There have been cases where foreign mercenaries laid down their arms. Even Russian propagandists write that the city is lost for them.

“In reality, it was never captured by them in order to be lost. Except for a short period in 2022. Nevertheless, they themselves now admit that the defense of the city by units that entered it and tried to entrench in the northern districts has failed. And that it is no longer possible to liberate them. That is, they have effectively written the city off”, — Trehubov said.

He noted that Russian troops continue attempts to break through from the north, attacking several times a day. However, these are cautious attempts to regain control over settlements north of Kupiansk itself — again, without significant success.

“At present, they simply do not have additional resources to somehow restore the situation. And here, it seems to me, heads of certain generals will roll. Possibly in the literal sense, they already have. Because first receiving ‘Heroes of Russia,’ and then, a few days later, receiving news that the city is not controlled at all — I think this was a shock even for the Russian leadership”, — Viktor Trehubov concluded.
