President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, during which the parties discussed further support for Ukraine and strengthening positions in the current diplomatic process.

This was reported by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

EU financial support: €90 billion for 2026-2027?

The Head of State thanked the European Council for its decision to provide €90 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine for 2026–2027, emphasizing that this decision is critically important at the current, in many ways decisive, diplomatic moment.

According to the President, such support from the European Union significantly strengthens Ukraine’s resilience and its position at the negotiating table.

Pressure on Russia and diplomatic coordination

The conversation separately emphasized the need for joint and coordinated pressure on Russia from all partners to achieve a just peace. The President stressed that the current negotiations could fundamentally change the situation, and EU support during this period is of decisive importance.

The parties also agreed on further contacts in the coming days to coordinate actions.

Work without pauses, despite the Holiday season

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that despite the pre-Christmas period, Ukraine and its partners do not stop daily work aimed at achieving peace and guaranteeing security.

The President thanked Ursula von der Leyen for her constant support of Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion.
