Intense fighting continues in the area of the city of Siversk in the Sloviansk direction. Russian troops, having a significant numerical advantage in manpower and equipment, continue active offensive attempts despite heavy losses.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In order to preserve the lives of Ukrainian servicemen and maintain the combat capability of units, the Defense Forces of Ukraine decided to withdraw from the settlement. During the battles for Siversk, Ukrainian defenders significantly exhausted the enemy — every meter of the city cost the occupiers heavy losses.
According to the General Staff, the enemy’s advance became possible due to constant pressure by small assault groups under difficult weather conditions and numerical superiority.
At the same time, Siversk remains under the fire control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Enemy units located in the city are being subjected to fire damage, their logistics are being cut off, and they are being blocked in order to prevent further advance.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to carry out combat missions in the Sloviansk direction and are taking all necessary measures to reduce the offensive potential of Russian troops.
The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.
