Over the course of a day, Ukrainian border guards destroyed nearly 80 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles in various directions.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Copters and fibre optics

According to the SBGS, the vast majority of targets hit were copter-type UAVs. Of these, 30 drones were controlled via fiber-optic communication — a technology the enemy is actively using to complicate the operation of electronic warfare systems.

Strikes on Sumy and Chernihiv regions

In Sumy region, border guards shot down three enemy “Gerbera” drones. In addition, four Shahed-type UAVs were hit in Sumy region.

Another three attack drones of this type were destroyed by servicemen of the Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment.

Southern direction

From the southern direction, the enemy also attempted to attack Ukraine with UAVs. Three enemy drones were shot down by forces of the Odesa Border Guard Detachment and the Odesa Maritime Guard Detachment.

The State Border Guard Service emphasizes that border guards continue to carry out air defense tasks in their areas of responsibility, strengthening the protection of Ukraine’s sky from enemy UAVs.
