The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Captain 2nd Rank Dmytro Pletenchuk, dismissed possible doubts about the success of the strike on a Russian submarine in Novorossiysk.

Dmytro Pletenchuk wrote about this on December 17 on his page.

“The enemy, you see, says everything is fine. Okay, just three facts:

  • With the Rostov-on-Don (B-237 Rostov-on-Don — a former Russian diesel-electric submarine of Project 636.3 Varshavyanka, part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of a strike on a bay in temporarily occupied Sevastopol in August 2024 — ed.), everything was also ‘fine’.

  • After the attack, this is the only submarine that remained in place.

  • Most importantly: knowing the mass of the warhead, I can assure you that the fish even in Tsemesskaya Bay were stunned by the hydroshock. An order of magnitude less is needed to destroy an ordinary vessel. I remind you: water is not a gas; it is incompressible. And an underwater torpedo detonates without touching the hull. Report finished”, — Dmytro Pletenchuk noted.
