Almost 950 per day: Ministry of Defense increases supply of interceptor drones to counter “Shaheds”
In December, the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is delivering to the military an average of nearly 950 interceptor drones per day to counter enemy strike UAVs.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the use of interceptor drones strengthens protection against drone terror while simultaneously preserving air defense system resources for intercepting cruise and ballistic missiles.
The procurement of anti-Shahed UAVs has been identified as one of the key priorities for 2026. As of December, the Ministry of Defense has contracts with more than ten manufacturers of such drones and is working systematically with the market to ensure uninterrupted supplies.
Tactical interceptor drones have already been integrated into the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace. This allows combat brigades to independently choose the necessary means to counter enemy reconnaissance and strike UAVs according to their own needs.
