On the night of December 16, Russian forces carried out a massive drone attack on the territory of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Massive aerial attack
From 18:00 on December 15, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 69 drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other UAVs.
Launches were carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation — from the areas of Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Millerovo — as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea. According to the Air Force, about 40 of the launched drones were Shahed-type.
The repelling of the air attack was ensured by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Consequences of the attack
As of 09:00, the destruction or suppression by electronic warfare means of 57 enemy drones has been confirmed. At the same time, hits by 10 strike UAVs were recorded at seven locations.
The Air Force notes that the attack is ongoing — enemy drones remain in Ukraine’s airspace. Citizens are urged to follow safety rules and respond to air raid alerts.
