“A strike on the oil giants”: Ukraine imposes sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced two new sanction measures by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
This was reported in a statement on the page of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
SANCTIONS AGAINST OIL CORPORATIONS
Ukraine continues to increase economic pressure on Russia. The new restrictions apply to Rosneft, its subsidiaries, and companies of the Lukoil group.
“These sanctions are already significantly depriving the Russian war machine of resources, and this must continue”, — the Head of State emphasized.
PERSONAL SANCTIONS AGAINST ATTACK ORGANIZERS
The second sanctions package targets specific representatives of the Russian Federation who are behind systematic drone strikes on Ukraine.
“We will work to make sanctions essentially joint with our partners… so that Russian killers truly feel the pressure”, — the President noted.
PRIORITIES OF SANCTIONS POLICY
Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined the key directions of further decisions:
- preparation of the EU’s 20th sanctions package;
- countering Russia’s ‘shadow fleet’;
- striking at Russian military production;
- restrictions against collaborators and propagandists.
“New sanction steps are coming soon”, — the President announced.
