As part of efforts to reduce the enemy’s offensive potential and complicate the supply of fuel and ammunition to the occupiers’ military units, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck facilities of the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery in Russia’s Samara region.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 16 November.

“This is an oil refinery with an annual processing capacity of 8.8 million tons. The enterprise produces more than 20 types of commercial products. It is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army and is one of the main manufacturers of premium-grade fuel for jet engines”, — the report said.

Explosions and a fire were recorded in the target area. The extent of the damage is being clarified.

In addition, Ukrainian defenders struck a UAV storage base belonging to the “Rubikon” unit, as well as a fuel and lubricants pumping station in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region.

“Results of the strike on the ‘Ryazansky’ oil refinery have also been clarified — the ELU-AVT-4 and ELU-AVT-6 crude oil processing units, a petroleum storage tank, and a pipeline trestle were damaged”, — the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
