President discussed countering Russian provocations and the PURL Initiative with NATO Secretary General
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
This was reported on the website of the President of Ukraine.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of the PURL initiative, which makes it possible to purchase American weapons using funds from NATO member states. Within the framework of the program, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, and Canada have financed four packages totaling over USD 2 billion. During the meeting, they discussed increasing the number of states that will contribute and participate in PURL.
Special attention was paid to threats from Russia, in particular the incidents with Russian drones in the skies of European countries.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mark Rutte agreed on further steps, coordinated positions within the framework of Ukraine–NATO cooperation, and discussed the next “Ramstein” meeting, which will take place at the level of defense ministers.
