Poland and Ukraine to establish joint task force on unmanned aerial systems
The Polish-Ukrainian group will include representatives of the armed forces of both countries. The group is intended to serve as a platform for coordinating and developing joint initiatives in the field of UAVs.
This was announced by Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal during a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, ArmyInform correspondent reports.
“This group will become a platform for coordination and the development of joint initiatives. We will integrate the latest protection technologies and launch new projects aimed at strengthening the protection of our people and our critical infrastructure,” — he said.
A central element of the new structure will be joint training programs. According to the heads of the defense ministries, these training programs will strengthen the capabilities of both countries in countering common threats and will allow more effective use of unmanned platforms to protect people and critical infrastructure.
“We are ready to share our knowledge, to share our technologies. We are ready to establish joint enterprises,” — Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
The Ukrainian Defense Minister also stated that Ukraine plans to train its Polish colleagues — both military personnel and engineers — on how to implement air defense systems to protect against Russian drones and missiles.
