Ukraine’s Minister of Defense discussed with a German delegation the establishment of joint production facilities and the development of domestic long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.

He reported this on Sunday, September 14, on his social media.

“I had an important meeting in Kyiv with the leadership of the German Ministry of Defense’s Ukraine Situation Center — Brigadier General Joachim Kaschke and his predecessor, Major General Christian Freuding. I expressed gratitude to Germany for its strong security assistance. I highlighted Germany’s support in the supply of Patriot systems and the personal involvement of the general in this process”, — the head of the Ministry of Defense wrote.

He also expressed gratitude to the German side for the announced €9 billion in assistance that will be provided to our country annually, as well as a contribution of €300 million for the development of long-range strike drone production.

“Today we continued discussions on the agreements reached during the ‘Ramstein’ meeting with Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. We talked about establishing joint production with German companies and launching projects within the framework of Build with Ukraine. We also focused on the changes being implemented in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are bringing the Ukrainian military closer to NATO standards in close cooperation with our allies”, — added Denys Shmyhal.
