“Please, be sure to pay attention to air raid alerts. There is intelligence information: the Russians are preparing a new massive strike. Drones to exhaust air defense and missiles. They want to take advantage of the cold. This strike may occur in the coming days”, — he said.
The President also recalled that he heard a detailed report from the Ukrainian negotiating team regarding communication with the American side.
“Practically every day the guys are in contact, a lot has been done. We are agreeing with representatives of President Trump on meeting schedules — our documents are largely ready for signing. We expect that the Davos format this year will be sufficiently productive precisely in terms of our relations with partners and our recovery after Russian strikes.
Now it is necessary for government officials to promptly analyze each of the documents of economic agreements so that all the interests of Ukraine are fully taken into account. We are also working to create effective mechanisms for financing recovery that are fair to Ukraine”, — Zelenskyy said.
According to him, the American side is constantly communicating with Russia, including regarding a basic document to end the war.
“This is a political document, and we have formulated our vision — what can realistically work. And although the diplomacy of Ukraine, America, and partners has been extremely active for several months, the main question remains unanswered — and that is the question of Russia, of what they are actually ready for”, — the Head of State noted.
He said that the behavior and rhetoric of the Russians do not indicate that they want to end this war or are preparing to do so.
“Everyone sees this. And it depends exclusively on partners, primarily the United States of America and the President of the United States, what Russia chooses: peace or continued war”, — the President emphasized.
That is why pressure on the aggressor is crucial, he added.
“We see how principled the approach can be toward shadow fleet tankers — what concerns oil from Venezuela. If there is political will, oil shipments can be stopped without any problems for the global market. We also see that there are many tools to block everyone who circumvents sanctions or helps marginal regimes. Russia must already try this on for itself if it does not move toward peaceful solutions. Especially since the circle of Russia’s accomplices is narrowing”, — Zelenskyy said.
He also noted that what is happening in Iran now — large-scale protests, essentially an uprising — is another clear sign that things will not be easy for Russia.
“And every normal person on Earth very much wants the people of Iran to finally be fortunate enough to free themselves from the regime that exists there and that has brought so much evil, including to Ukraine and other countries.
It is important that the world does not miss this moment when change is possible. And every leader, every country, international organizations must now get involved, help people remove those who are responsible for the fact that Iran, unfortunately, has been what it has been. Everything can become different”, — the President emphasized.
