The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine outlined key digital solutions adopted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces during 2025 and plans for the future.

This was discussed on Suspilne. News by Mstyslav Banik, Head of Digital Products at the Ministry of Defense.

“I see enormous progress that has taken place over the autumn and what we have planned for 2026. ‘Impulse’ has truly been launched. This is a personnel accounting system, a personnel management system — it is obvious that everything must start from knowing who your people are, their status, whether they are on leave, healthy, on sick leave, wounded, and so on”, — he said.

According to him, the SAP system was also a success — a leading international resource management system used by 28 NATO countries.

Notifications in Reserve+

Banik noted that another significant achievement is Reserve ID, which became the main military registration document, and emphasized the importance of notifications in Reserve+.

“We already have a certain pool of notifications, and it will expand. Notifications about deferments granted, electronic queue registration, medical commission appointments, and more. There is public demand”, — he said.

He added that many people in Ukraine do not live at their registered addresses and do not update their residence.

“When they are stopped by a Territorial Recruitment Center patrol and their documents are checked, people find out on the spot that they may be wanted or something else. Being wanted occurs after a person fails to appear at the TCR after a summons. So if we know that Ukrposhta has taken the summons and is delivering it or will deliver it on a certain day, it is obvious that it is more convenient for people to know about this fact”, — he explained.

Courses in Army+

Courses in Army+ are also important. One of the most popular is the tactical medicine course, which has been taken by 23,000 people, with about 13,000 already receiving certificates.

“What is its feature? It coincides by about 70–80% with the tactical medicine course taken during basic military training. Why do I emphasize 70–80%? Because it provides a broader overview. It does not include practical components. Obviously, you can’t apply a tourniquet via a phone, but at the same time it allows you to learn more, revise, and practice with a fellow soldier in your free time”, — Banik noted.

Requests from Servicemembers

According to Banik, many servicemembers also requested electronic IDs.

“First of all, they asked for IDs. We are working on this. Eventually, it will become a full-fledged military registration document. They asked for access to information, rights, opportunities, updates, regulations, and so on. That’s where we started—from the basics. People want to know what equipment they have, what property they have, and how their salary is calculated”, — Banik emphasized.
