Long-range drones of the SBU Special Operations Center “Alpha” struck two Su-27 aircraft at the Russian military airfield of Belbek in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The Security Service of Ukraine reported this on December 20.
One of the aircraft was on a taxiway with a full combat load and was ready for a combat sortie. It was destroyed.
The estimated value of both aircraft is approximately $70 million.
In addition, damage to the control tower was confirmed, which may complicate the organization and control of flights at the airfield.
This is already the second successful SBU attack on Belbek airfield in recent days. On December 18, the Service’s drones struck Russian equipment at this airfield worth hundreds of millions of dollars: two Nebo-SVU radars, a 92N6 radar from the S-400 Triumf air defense system, a Pantsir-S2 system, and a MiG-31 aircraft with a full combat load.
“SBU strikes on key military airfields, as well as the destruction of enemy aircraft and air defense systems in temporarily occupied Crimea, significantly reduce its military potential in the region. This systematic work will continue”, — the SBU said.
As ArmyInform reported, long-range drones of the SBU Special Operations Center “Alpha” have already struck the third Russian oil production platform in recent weeks on the Caspian Sea shelf, belonging to the company Lukoil.
