The decision of the European Council to provide Ukraine with €90 billion for 2026–2027 is a key step in strengthening our resilience amid the war.
This was stated in a message by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on her Telegram channel.
“We are sincerely grateful to our partners for this decision and their support. The decision ensures the stability of public finances, supports defense and critical state functions, and strengthens the confidence of international partners”, — she noted.
Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized that Russian sovereign assets remain immobilized, and work on the reparations loan is ongoing — in accordance with EU law and international law.
“Our principle remains unchanged: Russia’s aggression must have a financial price, and Russia must pay it”, — the head of government stressed.
As reported by ArmyInform, the leaders of the European Union approved a decision to provide Ukraine with financial support totaling €90 billion for 2026–2027.
The funds will be provided in the form of an interest-free loan linked to future reparations from the Russian aggressor. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen explained that this loan will not become a burden on Ukraine’s budget and will need to be repaid only when Kyiv receives reparations.
