Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal and the European Union’s High Representative Kaja Kallas discussed joint projects in arms production, technology exchange, and participation in collective initiatives, including the SAFE project.
The head of the Ministry of Defense reported this on Monday, October 13, on his social media, noting that the EU has become a powerful partner of our country in the war against Russia.
At the same time, Denys Shmyhal emphasized the need for “closer integration of Ukraine into the common system of collective defense”.
“Ukraine has proven to be an indispensable ally in the defense of Europe. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the EU and its member states have been providing military and technical assistance, training Ukrainian troops within the EUMAM Ukraine program, and have introduced 18 packages of sanctions against the aggressor. We sincerely thank them for this unwavering support”, – the statement reads.
In addition, during the talks, the parties coordinated Ukraine’s priority financial needs for the next year.
“It is important that Russian money continues to work for the benefit of Ukraine. Our partnership is the foundation of future security. Together, we are capable of building a strong and united Europe, able to resist any threats”, – added the head of the Ministry of Defense.
