Why can’t the war be won with drones alone, and what role do assault units play in modern warfare? How…
Four brothers from Lviv region serve together in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, embodying an old family motto: “One for all, and all for one.”
One of them, Taras, is an operator in the electronic warfare section of the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade of the Support Forces.
The story of the fighters was published on the brigade’s page.
In civilian life, he was a carpenter, and since childhood he dreamed of becoming a soldier. His military path began with basic training, followed by specialized training as an electronic warfare operator.
“My job is to bring down enemy drones and prevent them from striking our positions. This means saving the lives of my comrades”, — the soldier says.
Taras fought in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, completing difficult missions, and at one point suffered a severe injury from a drone attack.
“It was half a meter from me… Then — an explosion, black smoke, blood, and silence. My comrades carried me out, and that saved my life”, — he recalls.
Despite injuries and pain, Taras remained in the ranks. His support comes from his brothers. One fights beside him, another is an experienced assault fighter since 2014, and the third serves in a different unit.
“We have been together since childhood, and we joined the military together. Because this is our home, our land, and we will fight to the last”, — the soldier says.
For Taras, the greatest dream is victory. Recently, he became a father for the second time and admits: “I already have everything most important. Now I want my children to live in a peaceful and free country”.
After the war, the four brothers plan to continue serving in the army — this time under a peaceful sky.
