Ukraine is actively developing cooperation with foreign companies. At present, 25 foreign companies, including global defense industry giants, are at various stages of localizing their production in Ukraine.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this in a comment to Politico.
“Each manufacturer works in close dialogue with the Ukrainian government. We offer partners different models of cooperation, including the Danish model — Build with Ukraine/Build in Ukraine. The priority is that the main share of the company’s production goes to meet the needs of the Ukrainian military,” — the Minister noted.
To minimize risks for investors and make the operation of joint ventures in Ukraine more attractive, Ukraine has established Defence City.
This is a special regime for the development of Ukraine’s defense industry. It provides for tax benefits, simplified customs procedures, a mechanism for relocating production to safer regions, expanded state financial support, as well as opportunities for export and integration into global supply chains.
“We call on foreign companies to invest in Ukraine and open their production facilities here. Right now, the newest weapons capable of influencing the battlefield are being developed in Ukraine. Therefore, investing in Ukraine’s defense industry is the best investment in the security of the whole of Europe,” — Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
