Ukraine Receives €1.24 Billion from the EU for Interceptor Drones and Ukrainian-Made Missiles
Ukraine has received another €1.24 billion from the European Union under the defence component of the Ukraine Support Loan.
The funds will be used for the priority needs of the Defence Forces, including drones, interceptor drones, ammunition for unmanned systems and Ukrainian-made missiles.
This support directly strengthens the capabilities of the Defence Forces on the battlefield while also generating additional orders for Ukraine’s defence industry.
€13 Billion in Defence Financing
With the new tranche, Ukraine has already received almost €13 billion in defence financing under the Ukraine Support Loan.
The Ministry of Defence thanks European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius and EU member states for their consistent support for Ukraine and efforts to strengthen its defence capabilities.
€60 Billion for Ukraine’s Defence Needs
The Ukraine Support Loan provides for up to €90 billion in support for Ukraine in 2026–2027. Almost €60 billion of this amount is earmarked for defence, with another €30 billion allocated for budget support.
In 2026, the programme provides for €28.3 billion to support Ukraine’s defence-industrial capabilities.
Following the new Ukraine Support Loan tranche, €28.1 billion remains available through the end of 2026:
- €15.4 billion for supporting Ukraine’s defence-industrial capabilities;
- €12.7 billion in budget support.
The defence component of the Ukraine Support Loan is aimed, among other things, at developing and modernising Ukraine’s defence technology and industrial base, as well as gradually integrating it into the European defence industry.
