A former senior operative of the Donetsk UBOZ resigned from the force after the regional capital was seized by the “DNR”.

This was reported on June 1 by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

In 2017, the man, having assumed the position of “deputy head of the department—head of the tactical and strategic intelligence division of the DNR Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Organized Crime Control Department,” abused three civilians accused of allegedly collaborating with the SBU.

The prisoners were brought to special “UBOZ” facilities, where during “investigative procedures” they were beaten with fists and feet on the head and kidneys.

In particular, the suspect struck them with the butt of a pistol and metal weights, choked them, and threatened to shoot them.

On his orders, one of the townspeople was repeatedly subjected to electric shock torture. To intensify the pain, the “UBOZ officers” doused the person, who was tied to a chair, with water.

After being released from the places of unlawful detention, the civilians managed to flee to territory controlled by Ukraine.
