The system is expected to be capable of intercepting ballistic missiles such as the Iskander-M, North Korean KN-23, and Kinzhal.

This was stated on March 16 during the national telethon by Yurii Ihnat, Head of Communications of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The fact that France is ready to provide us with these systems is very encouraging, especially if they are capable of intercepting ballistic missiles. As we know, not only the Iskander-M, but also the North Korean KN-23 and Kinzhal missiles follow ballistic trajectories.

If we have some alternative to Patriot systems, for which, as you know, there are issues with missile supply, it will be very good for our air defense. This will be very powerful support from France”, — Ihnat said.

He also recalled that Ukrainian air defense crews have already mastered SAMP-T systems, which have even shot down Russian aircraft.
