Footage of the strike was published on March 11 on the unit’s social media.
The operation was conducted in cooperation with the duty forces command unit of the Northern Regional Electronic Intelligence Center.
Comrades provided information about the radar’s deployment area. Based on the received data, the “Lasars” determined the exact location of the enemy complex and sent heavy bombers there.
After the first successful drop, the Russians tried to save the equipment. However, the fighters of Lasar’s Group acted creatively and tracked the radar’s movement.
“Our pilot landed the bomber on the ‘Yastreb-AV,’ which allowed the Lasars to move with it along its route. With subsequent strikes, the fighters finally destroyed the radar”, — the statement said.
The estimated cost of the Yastreb-AV radar system is $50 million.
