Russian forces have begun using more ballistic missiles during massive attacks against Ukraine.
This was stated by Colonel Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the United News telethon broadcast.
“The enemy is using more ballistic missiles in 2025–2026. We had massive strikes — there were about a dozen and a half during the winter. And there we see that the use of missiles flying on ballistic trajectories has increased significantly”, — he said.
According to him, Russians use Iskander-M, KN-23, Kinzhal, Zircon, Oniks, Kh-22, Kh-32 missiles, as well as S-300 and S-400 air defense systems to strike Ukraine.
To intercept enemy missiles, Ukraine needs more missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
“We are indeed critically dependent on supplies of these missiles, because this system can intercept ballistic targets and has already proven its effectiveness since May 2023, when the Kinzhal was first shot down over the Kyiv region”, — he said.
The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.
