In the Kursk region, fighters of the 78th Separate Air Assault Brigade destroyed the Russian 1L122 “Garmon” radar station.

Footage of the combat operation appeared on the unit’s page.

The brigade’s soldiers detected the radar station on enemy territory — specifically in the Kursk region. Later, Ukrainian pilots destroyed the Garmon radar using UAVs.

It is noted that 1L122 radar systems are designed for tracking, detecting, and escorting various objects: aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and others. The station’s equipment automatically determines the national affiliation of the detected object and calculates and transmits information about the target’s parameters.

“The brigade continues to conduct defensive combat in the designated direction. The main task remains unchanged — preventing the crossing of Ukraine’s state border and enemy advance on the North-Slobozhansky axis”, — the statement said.

Over the past week, the situation in the brigade’s area of responsibility has not changed significantly. The enemy did not conduct assault actions, but an increase in the use of UAVs and loitering munitions against brigade positions was recorded.

“Brigade units continue to systematically strike enemy forces both in their area of responsibility and in the directions of adjacent units, providing fire support, stabilizing the situation, and strengthening the defense”, — the defenders assured.
