President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this.
According to him, due to the war involving the Iranian regime, there are challenges related to rising energy prices and the volume of necessary air-defense supplies for Ukraine.
“But we must have sufficient responses — all of us in the state must work for this. I spoke with Ursula von der Leyen, including about the situation around Iran and all challenges. Also about our bilateral issues with the European Union. Ukraine fulfills its obligations, and we expect equally fair and sincere treatment of Ukraine and the interests of our people”, — the President stressed.
He spoke with leaders of countries currently under Iranian attack — the President of the UAE and the Emir of Qatar.
“We will continue this diplomatic work with the Middle East and Gulf region. Ukraine stands in solidarity with all who oppose the spread of wars and violence. The Iranian regime has spent decades destroying the lives of neighbors and everyone else it could reach. On this basis, they became accomplices of the Russians in the war against Ukraine”, — Zelensky said.
He noted that every “Shahed” in Ukrainian airspace proves that the Iranian regime must be held accountable for attempting to destroy lives and people.
“It is important that defenders of life prevail in this confrontation. At the level of our teams — Ukrainian, Emirati, Qatari, and other states — we will determine how we can together provide more protection to life. Ukraine’s expertise in countering ‘Shaheds’ is now the greatest in the world, and ‘Shaheds’ are the biggest challenge there in the region.
It is clear why Ukraine receives so many requests. But any such cooperation to protect our partners cannot come at the expense of our own capabilities here in Ukraine. Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, Russian strikes continue, and protecting Ukrainians is the first priority”, — the President summarized.
