In 2026, the scaling-up of ground robotic systems will take place so that it is the GRS that perform logistics tasks.
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov wrote about this on his page on March 2.
Last week, he spent several days working directly on the frontline with mechanized, air-assault brigades and air-defense units. The goal is to synchronize decisions to strengthen defense and systematically prepare for spring.
Key priorities:
The Minister of Defense said that work is currently underway in several directions.
This means guaranteed monthly supplies of FPV drones, reconnaissance drones, bombers, and other UAVs—in addition to state deliveries, eDrones and other purchases.
“This will allow brigades to plan their defense and be confident in their resources. We are also working on centralized supplying of Starlinks and pickups for the army”, —Mykhailo Fedorov noted.
According to the minister, the analysis of every loss on the battlefield is beginning.
“The audit will help identify key problems and make management decisions to resolve them systematically. Human capital is the highest value. We will fight for the life of every warrior”, — he emphasized.
“In the near future, we will move from manually forming needs to an automated model. Based on high-quality frontline data, we will form real requirements without a ‘zoo’ of ineffective solutions. Our goal is for the military to receive the best solutions rather than having to refine them with their own hands in the trenches”, — the minister stated.
“A procurement plan has been formed. There will be more interceptors, FPV drones, fiber-optic drones, wing-type reconnaissance drones, long-range strike drones, and other necessary equipment. The first quarter is already contracted: for the first time, need was formed based on data, eliminating subjective influence and corruption risks. Procurement results will soon be felt at the front”, — said Mykhailo Fedorov.
This year, there will be many more ground robotic complexes. The goal is to transfer logistics to GRS to reduce personnel losses.
“We are working on products that can be analogues of Mavics, using AI. We are already testing solutions that will soon be scaled up on the frontline”, — Mykhailo Fedorov assured.
The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.
