Rescue of Private “Spartak”: A Ground Robotic Complex Evacuated a Wounded Soldier From a Mined Area
Ukrainian defenders used a ground robotic system to save Private “Spartak,” who stepped on a mine.
The corresponding video appeared on the channel of the 1st Separate Medical Battalion.
“During the preparation of positions, the wounded soldier was spotted by an enemy reconnaissance drone. Due to the exposure, they decided to change positions, but during the relocation, they triggered a mine”, — the defenders reported.
As a result of the explosion, the soldier sustained multiple shrapnel wounds to his lower limbs and could not move on his own.
“A remote telemedicine consultation was provided to his comrades to deliver urgent care and stabilize the wounded soldier — including wound packing”, — the military noted.
They then decided to evacuate him using the robotic system. The evacuation was complicated by dense mining of the area, requiring additional reconnaissance and careful movement. The mission lasted 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Throughout the evacuation, communication with the wounded soldier was maintained via the internal audio system inside the robot’s capsule.
After extraction from the “kill zone”, he was transferred to a medical evacuation team and then safely transported to forward surgical groups, where he received all necessary medical care. He is now continuing treatment at the next stage.
“Remote telemedicine assistance helps win time for the wounded to await evacuation. Providing voice support helps maintain moral and psychological stability”, — the battalion stated.
The ground robotic complex evacuated the wounded despite attacks by Russian FPV drones.
