Another round of peace negotiations concluded in Geneva
The talks took place in two formats — separately with the American side, and a trilateral meeting involving the U.S. and Switzerland.
This was reported by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.
“Following the meetings, together with Davyd Arakhamia and representatives of the American side — Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — we held a joint conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky about the meeting results and next steps”, — Umerov wrote.
According to him, preparations are underway for the next round of negotiations.
“We are working on finalizing security parameters, economic decisions, and agreed positions that will form the basis of future arrangements.
The task is to make the next trilateral meeting with the U.S. and Russia as substantive as possible”, — Umerov noted.
He added that special attention was given to the economic sector and long-term mechanisms for supporting Ukraine.
“Together with the Government’s economic team, including Oleksii Sobolev, and American partners, we thoroughly worked through the document on Ukraine’s recovery. We agreed that our teams will continue detailed work on the document, including the future reconstruction and investment plan”, — Umerov said.
He thanked Switzerland for organizing the talks and President Donald Trump and his team for active engagement and consistent support of the process.
