Destroying launch positions of enemy UAV operators is among the top priorities for Defense Forces units on the Lyman axis.
This is achieved despite active enemy countermeasures.
This was reported during an Army TV livestream by Captain “Prepod,” battle captain of the 2nd mechanized battalion “Onuky Adolfivny” of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
He said:
— Since the beginning of the year, the situation remains tense but controlled. The enemy continues offensive actions, uses many UAVs and other strike means, including guided aerial bombs.
They attempt to use light two-wheeled vehicles when weather permits and try to destroy our logistics routes and main defensive areas.
One key task is destroying enemy drone pilots’ launch positions:
— We usually try to detect and destroy enemy pilots’ launch sites. They also use pump-action shotguns to shoot down drones and actively use electronic warfare.
They try to conceal themselves so we cannot detect their concentration points.
He added that the enemy should not be underestimated:
If they realize we are tracking them, they may land their drone elsewhere, wait out the “storm”, and then retrieve it or use another drone.
The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.
