A team of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in the Defence Cyber Marvel 6 international cyber exercises among about 2,500 specialists from 29 countries.
The exercises were organized with the support of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and NATO, held in Singapore.
Out of 38 teams, the joint team of the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with representatives of the Royal Corps of Signals of the UK took second place, losing only to the Defence Equipment & Support team of the UK Ministry of Defence.
The Ukrainian team included representatives of the Main Joint Cybersecurity and Information Protection Center of the AFU, the Main Information and Telecommunications Node of the AFU, the Center for Scaling Technological Solutions of the AFU, and the Military Institute of Communications and Informatization named after the Heroes of Kruty.
Vladyslav Chevardin, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor, Head of the Cybersecurity Department of the Military Institute of Communications and Informatization named after the Heroes of Kruty, noted that participation in such exercises helps develop the capabilities of the Cyber Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and allows obtaining an independent assessment of specialists’ training levels according to modern NATO standards.
A key feature of this year’s training was the formation of joint international teams, which required effective coordination, division of roles, and maintaining situational awareness when responding to cyber threats.
The captain of the team from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr, successfully completed team management tasks, which enabled achieving high results.
Over five days, participants completed complex practical tasks in countering cyberattacks, investigating cyber incidents, using artificial intelligence, post-quantum cryptography, quantum computing, and ensuring continuous operation of cyber threat response centers in 24/7 mode.
Participation in Defence Cyber Marvel 2026 allowed Ukrainian servicemen not only to adopt modern cyber defense practices but also to present to international partners Ukraine’s unique experience in countering threats in cyberspace.
Teachers of the Cybersecurity Department of the Military Institute together with specialists from combat units of the AFU continue integrating the acquired experience into the educational process, contributing to the training of a new generation of military cybersecurity and information protection specialists.
