General Oleksandr Syrskyi continues working in the areas of active combat missions in the southeast.
He reported this on February 16.
“I visited several command posts of brigades and regiments taking part in active hostilities on the Oleksandrivka axis and near Huliaipole. I held working meetings with the commander of the Air Assault Forces and commanders of assault units”, — Syrskyi noted.
According to him, the operational situation remains difficult. The enemy continues attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses, conducting constant attacks but without significant success.
Defense Forces hold their designated lines, disrupt enemy plans, and inflict significant personnel and equipment losses.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian units conduct effective counterattacks, assault actions, and successfully employ UAVs, artillery, and electronic warfare.
“I heard reports from commanders regarding task execution, operational changes, proposals for further actions, and urgent needs of our units. Issued corresponding orders”, — he said.
Syrskyi emphasized that while liberating territories is crucial, the top priority is preserving soldiers’ lives and maintaining unit combat capability.
He reminded commanders that assigning personnel to positions must account for their professional experience and civilian-acquired skills.
“I thank every servicemember for resilience, professionalism, and dedication to Ukraine. We work together for a single goal — the liberation of occupied territories”, — the Commander-in-Chief concluded.
