Ukraine is systematically scaling up the use of ground robotic systems on the battlefield. This is no longer occasional use but daily practice among units.
This was reported on February 17 by Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
Half a year ago, evacuation of the wounded using robotic systems was extremely rare. Today, robots regularly enter high-risk zones: delivering ammunition, supporting logistics, and evacuating wounded where human presence would pose additional danger.
The video shows an evacuation mission by a rifle unit of the 17th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade. A wounded soldier was evacuated from a dangerous area using a robotic platform.
In January alone, more than 7,000 missions using robotic systems were carried out. Most were logistics tasks on the frontline — thousands of operations previously performed by soldiers under fire.
According to the Minister, the main task is to transfer as much frontline logistics as possible to ground robotic systems. This will reduce risks to soldiers and increase unit efficiency.
This year, production and procurement of robotic systems will increase, along with improvements to communications and control systems.
Another priority is giving military units the ability to upgrade systems — to purchase needed modules and components for specific missions.
“Through the Army of Drones.Bonus program, we are scaling the most effective combat experience. Thirteen robotic models are available on the Brave1 Market, which units can obtain for combat points — quickly, transparently, and according to real frontline needs”, — Fedorov noted.
