Ukrainian pilots flying Western aircraft have once again demonstrated effectiveness in downing cruise missiles and enemy drones.

This was reported by Air Force spokesman Colonel Yurii Ihnat on his Facebook page.

“This morning most of the cruise missiles are on their account”, — Ihnat stressed.

He commented on information from the French outlet Intelligence Online claiming that a secret F-16 squadron in Ukraine allegedly consists of Ukrainian, American, and Dutch pilots and is now protecting Kyiv’s airspace, including veterans shooting down Russian missiles and drones.

“Sure! And Tom Cruise is leading the squadron”, — Ihnat joked.

He added information about the publication: Intelligence Online belongs to the independent French publishing group Indigo Publications. It specializes in intelligence, state and corporate security, secret diplomacy, and geopolitics. It has been published since 1980 and is headquartered in Paris.

The group claims complete independence — it receives no state subsidies and does not run ads, relying solely on subscriptions. Critics, however, doubt this.

There is no direct evidence of Russian funding or influence, but the outlet is sometimes criticized due to the nature of its content. Ukrainian think tanks, including the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, note that pro-Russian narratives occasionally appear in its materials. Critics point to manipulative forecasts proclaiming Ukraine’s “inevitable defeat”, which can influence Western public opinion.

In addition, since the publication specializes in intelligence “leaks”, it may be used as a platform for information operations by various intelligence services, including Russian ones.

“Still, seeing the reaction of Russians was useful — they stubbornly refuse to believe in the success of Ukrainian pilots and the development of our Air Force’s aviation component!” — Ihnat added.
