In Munich, the organizers of the Munich Security Conference presented the Ewald von Kleist Award to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

This was reported on the website of the President of Ukraine.

The Ewald von Kleist Award is an annual distinction awarded since 2009 by the organizers of the Munich Security Conference for outstanding contributions to the peaceful resolution of conflicts. This year, the organizers awarded it to the brave Ukrainian people.

The Head of State thanked for the award given to the Ukrainian people, which at the same time is an award to Ukrainian strength and Ukraine’s friendship with its partners.

“Therefore, Ukraine is working so persistently to build at least mutual understanding, mutual respect, and fair treatment with everyone. At the very least. And even better — real friendship. Today I want to thank you in the same spirit of friendship — all the leaders without whom this day and the strength we have today would simply be impossible”, — the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed special gratitude to each of the leaders in the United States, Europe, and Canada who support Ukraine during this war against Russian aggression and help Ukrainians endure.

“In Ukraine, when I list these names, people know exactly whom I mean and what stands behind each name: what has already been done, what else can be done, and what we are already grateful for or will be. It is no coincidence that Ukrainians know the names of European leaders — and that I can address them in the same way. This shows how close we are, how many true friendly ties we have built, and how much we are going through side by side”, — the Head of State emphasized.

The President thanked everyone who stands with Ukraine and works to end this war and achieve real peace, as well as for their respect for all Ukrainians.
