Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence has released the structure of the Kalashnikov Concern and information about the activities of its enterprises.

The relevant data was published by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on the War&Sanctions portal.

It is noted that the Kalashnikov holding is traditionally associated with small arms, yet in reality its production is a multi-sector element of the Russian military-industrial complex and is directly involved in supporting the aggressive war against Ukraine.

The concern’s enterprises manufacture reconnaissance and strike UAVs, guided artillery munitions, high-speed landing boats, equipment for the Russian armed forces, as well as machinery for other Russian defence companies.

Despite their critical role in military production, almost half of the concern’s enterprises are still not subject to sanctions by any country of the sanctions coalition.

Among them in particular:

  • LLC KB “Luggar”, a developer of thermal imaging sights and laser rangefinders;

  • Kalashnikov industrial cluster, which produces small arms, special-purpose equipment, clothing and gear for special forces;

  • “Kalashnikov Academy” training centre, which prepares specialists in robotics, artificial intelligence, and the creation and modernisation of UAVs for the concern’s enterprises.

The Kalashnikov Concern became the sixth holding of the Rostec corporation published by Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence in the “Aggressor’s Military-Industrial Complex” section of the War&Sanctions portal.

The overall list of Rostec enterprises already disclosed on the portal includes nearly 500 companies, each of which has a complete set of data required for adding them to sanctions lists and responsible-business “stop-lists”.

DIU emphasised that the Russian military-industrial complex must be fully isolated from global markets, technologies, finance, and supply chains.
