President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during the night attack, Russia concentrated its main strike on energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro.
He stated this on February 12.
According to him, repair crews and rescuers have been working on the sites of Russian strikes since night. In total, there were 219 attack drones overnight, most of them Shaheds, and 25 missiles, of which 24 were ballistic. Most were intercepted, but unfortunately, not all.
“As of now, it is known that two people were killed in this attack. My condolences to their families. More than ten people were injured”, — the President wrote.
The main target was the energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro — generation facilities and substations. There were also damages in the Kharkiv region, Donetsk, Kyiv, and Kherson regions. In Kramatorsk, a drone struck the State Emergency Service building. The situation in the capital is difficult: many homes remain without heating.
Zelenskyy stressed that protection against such strikes must be stronger. Patriot systems are the most effective against Russian ballistic missiles, and missile deliveries must come every day.
“I thank all the countries contributing to the PURL program. Everything in the program regarding air defense must arrive faster. I thank the leaders who understand this and help”, — he concluded.
